Eating fruits and vegetables that have a high water content is just one way to hydrate. Drinking soups that are made with broth or even sipping broth itself is hydrating. Herbal teas can be another way to get a little more water into her daily count. Find combinations that your senior likes, and include those in rotation with plain water. 

She Needs More Water if She Is Exercising  

If your senior is increasing her activity levels and exercising, then she’s going to need to drink a little bit more water. Her body uses plenty of water just by going through her day. But adding more movement increases the amount of water your senior needs, especially if she sweats, too. Talk to her doctor about how increasing her activity levels changes her need for water. 

Drinking enough water is a balancing act for your senior. It helps if you do what you can to make getting plenty of water easy for her to do.
